INSPECTIONS
Safety, Compliance, Monitoring
Having your course, facility and operation inspected is a critical part of your ongoing safety system. As an accredited Professional Vendor Member (PVM) of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT), Synergo offers a variety of inspection, review and consulting services to help ensure your site, facilities and operations align with standards.
Synergo has decades of experience inspecting challenge courses, aerial adventure parks, and zipline tours. We provide many of our clients with regular professional 3rd party inspections (annually or more frequently depending on use) but we also provide Acceptance Inspections for new construction or major modifications as well as Operation Reviews, which are required by ACCT to be completed at least every 5 years.

Types of Inspections
Professional 3rd Party Inspections
ACCT standards require that courses be inspected annually (at a minimum) by a qualified professional. The annual inspection is an important part of your ongoing inspection and safety system that also should include pre-use inspections and periodic inspections.
Synergo is qualified to conduct structural and equipment inspections for all types of courses including, but not limited to: High Course Elements, Low Course Elements, Zip Line Tours, Climbing Towers, Aerial Adventure Parks, and Climbing Walls. We inspect every part of your course, provide you with a comprehensive written report, and are available for post-inspection consultation to help correct any deficiencies discovered.
Operation Reviews
An operation review is a great way to ensure that your policies and procedures, training, operations and guest experience are all in alignment and compliant with ACCT standards which state that an operation “shall engage in a review of it’s practices by an external qualified person(s), at least once every five years.”. We’ve found that many of our clients can use assistance in interpreting the standards and understanding how they apply to their specific operation.
The Synergo operation review process begins with a consultation phone call to better understand the scope of your operation and desired outcomes. We then make a plan and budget to meet your specific needs. While each review is tailored to the client, our process includes:
Thorough documentation review
Management / Ownership interview
Guide staff interviews
Guest interviews
Operation observation
Between written policies and procedures, management, staff and the actual guest experience, the goal of the operation review is to assess compliance with Chapter 2 of the ACCT standards and alignment. Very often we are able to illuminate issues of non-compliance or mis-alignment and provide strategies for improvement.
In addition to Operation Reviews we also offer several other services to assist you with your overall operations, including:
Training observations
General safety audits
Operations consulting for ownership / management transitions
Documentation review
Document creation - including policies and procedures manuals, maintenance programs, etc.
Site visits for project design/feasibility
Incident reviews
Please contact us to discuss your Operation Review needs - we look forward to partnering with you!
Acceptance Inspections
When a new course or activity is built, or undergoes a major modification, it should receive an acceptance inspection. This inspection differs from the annual inspection in that it verifies that the structure is built as designed and it also includes a testing component to ensure that life safety attachments, brake systems, etc. work as intended.
Each acceptance inspection is unique so please contact us early in your process so we can discuss your requirements.
Incident/Accident Reviews and Expert Witness Services
Unfortunately, sometimes accidents happen. With over 30 years of challenge course, zipline and aerial adventure experience across multiple states we can provide you with perspective to help you assess your event and prevent loss in the future. We provide both post-incident review services and expert witness services including:
Post-incident analysis (documentation, operations, financial, etc.)
Course design and structural analysis
Zipline braking systems analysis
Operations and training practices review
Risk audits
Standards interpretation and application
Insurance assessments and expert witness services
